Body Detox Recipe


By now you should most probably know what a detox is and what it does for your body and mind. A simple detox diet can be the answer to half of your problems and clear your body of toxins, making you feels revived and energized. By simply cutting down on cigarettes and alcohol and eating high fiber foods and drinking plenty of water, you can return your body to its natural state and well being.

A monotrophic diet can be followed by a three day fast. This means only one type of fruit is eaten during a meal. You may have only apples for breakfast or bananas, or mangos. Eat as much as you like, but only one type of fruit per meal. Do the same for lunch and dinner without combining the fruits. Freshly squeezed juice can curb those in between hunger pans so keep a grapefruit handy.

Understandably this diet may not appeal to everyone and luckily there are plenty available to choose from, each designed to boost energy and supply your body with much needed nutrients. You will often find that these diets include antioxidant rich and high fiber foods, assisting you in your detox.

Fluids help to remove toxins from your body and the more you can drink the better. Ginger is well known for its cleansing properties and combined with cayenne pepper, will do wonders for your weight. Mix a teaspoon of ground ginger, a teaspoon of cayenne pepper and 1 teaspoon of honey with 2 cups of boiling water. Squeeze in half a lemon and allow a few minutes for the flavors to be released into the water. Drink as warm as possible. Perfect for colds and flue too.

Make yourself a breakfast booster with super vegetable juice by combining a whole cucumber, 4 sticks of celery, a few handfuls of spinach and a couple of lettuce leaves. Add parsley or alfalfa sprouts for extra zest and juice together with distilled water. Squirt some lemon juice to flavor and drink cold. Use as an energy booster and to clear your digestive system.

For lunch you might try a soup made of raw vegetables to balance the alkalinity of your pH prevents disease causing bacteria from thriving. Make a paste with an avocado. Add spring onions, red pepper, 1 cucumber, a clove of garlic, 2 handfuls of spinach, lemon juice and 100ml of vegetable stock. Blend it all together and enjoy.
